Well, I've only been once, and the actual bar was closed for a life drawing class. As soon as I saw that free feminine hygiene products were in the bathrooms for use, I was sold. Its a strongly held belief of mine that they should be free for all those who need them as part of daily life. I've never seen that, and I worked hospo for 20 years. Hands down the best venue I've been to, and it wasn't even open.

Bernie’s Bar is a highly-inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly, environment, with an amazing atmosphere of warmth and fun. Some of my best nights of 2025 have started at Bernie’s. Their Long Island is delicious, beautifully garnished, and generous in size. I’d recommend anyone looking for a fun night out, to come here and spread positivity and joy.

A wonderful local bar for the LGBTQ+ community. The staff are always great, and I love the murals and artwork throughout the place. There is a nice selection of food and drinks, all reasonably priced. There is a wonderful range of events hosted here, I would suggest checking out what is on, as this will impact the crowd and vibe of the night. Though, I have always found everyone very welcoming.

Fabulous vibe & atmosphere, very welcoming to all, great prices, always plenty of entertainment on here, outdoor seating for smokers, a great place to party & experience.

Bernie’s Bar is hands down the best bar around! Every time we go, we have an absolute blast. The music is always on point, the events are a vibe, and the atmosphere is just electric. The staff are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet – they really make you feel welcome. The cocktails? Incredible. The shot bar? Dangerous in the best way possible! If you’re looking for a fun night out with great drinks and even better people, Bernie’s is the place to be.

Love the place and the vibe there, everyone is very welcoming and friendly towards each other. There’s also a wide range of age groups coming together which is something great to see.

And amazing new venue that has an incredible vibe, extremely welcoming to people from all walks of life, styles and fashion. A place where you can be You, absolutely enjoyed myself there yesterday not to mention the cocktails…. are to die for! And the food menu amazing such well priced! You guys have completely nailed it.! What a place! Rainbow friendliest place in Newcastle!! And for us quirky people too! Wanted somewhere to dance the night away with music we would actually know. Was recommended Bernies by 2 friends in the Newcastle area. We went out on a Saturday night and it was bustling! We wore our cat ears out and got so many compliments 😊What a great little bar/nightclub in the heart of Newcastle. Will definitely go out again.
